As you’re about to embark on a wonderful journey! Whether buying or selling, it is an exciting time because you’re involved in either the sale of or the purchase of real estate.

I’ve been an active Realtor since 1986, when my husband and I decided that I would leave my teaching profession and pursue a career in real estate. At that time, we lived in Frederick, MD, and had two children. After a move to Hagerstown, MD, we settled in an old historic home built in 1910 on the North End. We renovated the house and, in the process, learned a lot about old homes! We fell in love with our neighborhood and the architecture and beauty of the older established homes. The annual Mummer’s Parade goes down our street, and we love watching the parade from our front porch.

Our family grew to five children, and I became active in their education by being involved with the Washington County Public Schools. I served on the Superintendent’s Advisory Boards for Gifted and Talented Students, Budget, and chaired many committees. One of my favorite jobs was “Team Mom” for the North Hagerstown Baseball Team of 2010. This team went on to become State Champs for their division! But time marches on, and we now have eight grandchildren as all of our children are grown with families of their own. This is what keeps me running, and you’ll often find me at my first appointment of each day—working out at the YMCA!

Being an active Realtor is not only exciting but rewarding, as well. For some people, they are beginning their dream of homeownership; for others, they are moving on to a new chapter in their lives. No transaction is the same, which is what I love about my business. I am able to help in many capacities, and some may say I am a “problem solver.” The knowledge and experience I bring to the transaction is what sets me apart from others—as well as the commitment and professionalism. I strive to ensure that my clients are well represented throughout the transaction.

And when you hire me, you get me! I will be there to show you the homes and guide you through the process from start to finish—and beyond. Much of my business is by referral from friends and family who I have worked with in the past. It is so much fun to help young adults—who I once served watermelon and barbecue chicken legs as “Team Mom”—now purchase a home for their family!

My husband and I have bought and sold many homes throughout MD. We have renovated and flipped, and retained others as rentals. I’ve loved the thrill of buying foreclosures, renovating the house, and thereby helping to improve a neighborhood. Seeing the finished product come full circle is very rewarding. Since I believe real estate drives the economy, it is a wonderful investment vehicle. It is truly “the American Dream,” and I am excited to help others realize that dream, as well.

• 1980 – Graduated University of MD, College Park, College of Education
• 1989–2005 – Served on many advisory boards with WCPS
• 1998 – Organized area business sponsorships for 250 elementary school students to attend a performance of The Nutcracker Ballet at the MD Theatre through WCPS
• 2015 – President of Pen-Mar Realtor Association, Hagerstown, MD
• 2022, 2025 – Chairperson of Pen-Mar Realtors Legislative Committee
• Served on the Advisory Board for The Hagerstown Home Store
• 2008–Present – Community advocate for the citizens of the North End by conducting neighborhood meetings at the Antietam Fire Station, Hagerstown, MD with First Responders, County Commissioners, and City Council Members
• Currently a Realtor with Real Estate Teams, LLC in Frederick, MD, and licensed in MD, PA, and WV

Recently, I have added my daughter, Natalie E. Glanden, as “Teammate” to the Nancy Allen Team. Natalie resides in Frederick, MD, in Spring Ridge and is active in her community. She is a top-notch fitness instructor, as well as a Realtor. She and her husband have three children.
